ALT LAWN ULTRA - Plugs
Out of stock
Whiz-bang Japanese technology meets California native groundcover in this all-time favorite alternative lawn wonder. A California native "weed" hybridized with a sterile Japanese groundcover that charms bees, grows low and goes months without water in the cool season.
A lawn alternative at half of the cost artificial turf. It requires thorough waterings its first year to get established, then sends its roots down 10 FEET to withstand drought and dance parties.
If you over water, alt lawn ultra will tell you by sprouting a carpet of tiny white blossoms bees adore. You can mow the blossoms if bees aren't your fav, or reduce watering until blooming recedes (we recommend those with bee allergies or serious concerns in this department steer clear).
In sunny areas, Alt Lawn Ultra stays low to the ground in a soft, woven carpet form. In shady areas alt lawn ultra reaches to 3-4 inches with soft whispy arms.
This groundcover is unstoppable once established (but don't worry it's also sterile so won't spread by seed and is not invasive). Sure, it creeps. But it stands up to dogs, sports, parties and some neglect cuz, lets be honest, we all need a break once in awhile.
Plant at a spacing of 8" and weed and water thoroughly for sod to fill-in fully in approximately 6 months.
