California Bay Laurel

This variant is currently sold out

California Bay Laurels are a sister tree to the avocado. This native brand of Laurel grows in foothills and valleys among California's mixed oak, redwood and pine forests. It is slow growing and drought-tolerant, surviving in shade and benefiting from a little pruning. Offering its own heady blend of eucalyptus, menthol, clove and vanilla fragrances, it’s dried leaves show up well in sauces and soups (tread lightly! They're potent).

An awesome addition to native gardens or companion to existing large native trees like Live Oaks, Deodar cedars or pines. An icon of the bay area that grows happily in Southern California climes as well.
