Agrostis Pallens (San Diego or Coast Bentgrass)

Native to meadows and wildflower fields up and down California. Agrostis pallens is one of the best native lawn alternative grasses out there. This new plug delivery option means you can now grow MUCH smaller sizes (or plug an existing lawn), or install yourself with a simple garden knife, rather than deal with bulky sod.

This low-growing meadow grass comes in trays of 30 or 70. They work great for all lawn areas, large and small and are very pet friendly. Space grasses at 8-12" apart for full coverage or more for intermixing with wildflowers. 

Tolerant of regular foot traffic and bimonthly mowing (if desired). Does well in part-shade. Tolerant of heat and seaside exposures. Slightly stiffer blade than conventional lawn grasses. Maintain for a meadow look with an annual winter whipper-snipper (weed whack) trim to 4-6" in height.
