BEFORE & AFTERS
After years of building small unsightly test plantings, we are SO happy to see these designed-for-drought gardens do their thing in California summer. After a few months of regular deep watering to facilitate root establishment, these low-water plants are thriving on drip irrigation 1-2x week in Los Angeles county summer.
Xeric Modern & Succulent Success
This yard was empty save for weedy gravel when the new owners moved in. The landscape was hot and uninviting. Roshin & Wyatt wanted to lose the gravel but not blow their budget. 5-months later their front yard filled in flawlessly and continues to grow. It's "a super smart and cost-effective approach to landscaping with native plants," says Roshin when asked about California Wild.
To layout the plants just right, Roshin and Wyatt added a customization to their plant pack. And hired a professional installer (they were first time L.A. gardeners afterall!). It was done in 3 weeks. Now, the mix of cactus, succulents and Australian plants loves all the sharp drainage that mixing some of the old gravel into the soil created. A mulch finish locks in moisture & helps smother weeds. The center Decomposed Granite bocci ball court was lined with heavy landscape cloth and edged with treated landscape timbers.
Without knowing it, they planted their yard in the nick of time! The 3-months of deep spring watering meant the plants were ready to go for 1-2x a week watering restrictions in summer 2022. 5-months after install. Succulents, cactus and low-water plants are booming in bright colors. Thriving on summer water 1x week in L.A. County.

California native
Wildflower Garden
Inspired by the desert and coastal Superblooms of California. This seasonal garden offers an array of native blossoms in spring, a quiet dormancy period in summer and a show of fall inflorescences from native ornamental grasses. These native plants put their energy into setting roots their first year. By their second spring the whole yard starts to fill with poppies, smaller grasses and blooming groundcovers. Big pink, purple and gold grasses spread out in the back.

Before & After Lawn Alternative
This Walnut, California home replaced their lawn with native succulent groundcover plugs that fill-in in as little as 2 months (up to 6 if planted in winter). Their lawn did well during water restrictions & has NEVER been mowed.

This home-owner was ready to downsize their lawn and UP the curb appeal. A large tree in the curbside bed meant only the shaded grass stayed green in summer. So we replaced the brown spots with a gorgeous, fresh-smelling array of mediterranean plants. The therapeutic plants and textures in this garden include lavender, white sage, wormwood and super soft 'white cloud' muhly grass.
